The questions people ask most, answered plainly.

What is MenaDB?

A reference database of organisations, events and rules across the Arabic-speaking world, plus Turkey and Iran. We list by what an organisation does, not by who owns it. See what we list.

How do I find an organisation?

Use the search box on the home page, or open the Directory and filter by country or sector. You can also browse by country or sector from the footer.

What do “Listed” and “Read at source” mean?

They say how far we have checked a record. “Listed” means we know it exists, where to find it and when we last saw it live. “Read at source” means the details were read from the organisation’s own page, with the date they were read. The About page explains both.

Is the database complete?

No, and we do not claim it is. A sector with few records says so on its page. The Coverage page shows what we hold and where the gaps are.

Where does the information come from?

From public sources, mainly the organisation’s own website or the body that issues the record. Each record shows its source. We do not use private data.

Something is wrong or out of date. How do I tell you?

Use the correction button on any page, or email mail@menadb.com. A person reads every report. If you are the organisation concerned, say so and we will check against your own page.

How do I get my organisation listed?

Use List your organisation. We review every request and may decline it if it is outside what we list. Listing is free.

Why is an organisation I expected not shown?

It may be outside our scope, or we may not have checked it yet. What we list sets out both reasons. If it should be there, send us a correction or a listing request.

What are your standards for what you include?

They are on Our standards. We report facts and the sources behind them. We do not issue rulings, and a listing is not an endorsement.

How do I contact you or report a concern?

Email mail@menadb.com or see Contact. The correction button on any page also reaches us.
