Soutien a la production etrangere (CCM, Arrete conjoint n 2948-17 as amended)
A cash rebate on qualifying spend in Morocco for foreign productions, administered by the CCM. Open to feature films, television series and films, docufiction and documentary, and long-form fiction made for the internet.
Eligibility
At least 10 million dirhams of spend in Morocco, roughly one million US dollars, and at least 18 days of work in the country including set building. Applications must be made before production begins.
Conditions
The CCM issues an initial approval within 30 days where funds are available, then requires a bank guarantee of 5% of the support requested. From payment of the deposit: six months to start work, twelve months from the first day of shooting to finish, and three months from the end of shooting to submit accounts. The support is paid in a single instalment within 180 days of the commission's decision on a complete claim. The producer must grant the CCM Moroccan cultural usage rights one year after commercial release, provide a copy of the film, allow extracts to be used to promote Morocco, and carry the credit "This film has benefitted from production support from the Kingdom of Morocco".
What we could not establish. The page's FAQ asks whether the support is capped but the answer is not shown in the page text, so no cap is recorded either way. The rate was 20% before 28 March 2022. Support is subject to available funds, so approval is not guaranteed even when the criteria are met.
